Abstract

To give or not to give a receipt? This is a question that has reasonably unsettled psychoanalysts about the contingencies of the analytic act and its coherence in relation to the politics of the unconscious. But do these procedures belong to the ethics of the tactic of transference, or do they concern the demands of the city, pointing to the sneaky risk of regulating psychoanalysis? Certainly, the analytical discourse finds its radicality and efficacy in promoting a turn in the subject's economy of jouissance, engendering it in a new apparatus, from which it is possible to sustain a trade not from exchange relations, but from the worthy value of the waste that the experience of an analysis can produces. Using as references a formation of the unconscious and Agnès Varda's film "The Gleaners and I" (2000) to unfold the deduction that the desire to be an analyst operates and happens from a journey through misery, this article aims to bear witness to the fact that it is among the gleaners that the economic act of an analyst must be included. In other words, that it is from the scraps, pieces, and fragments that resources can be extracted to maintain the teaching and transmission of psychoanalysis.
