Abstract

Literature is an art that uses the word as a raw material. Both literature and psychoanalysis instigate their readers to read and reread the same text, leading them to continuously discover new meanings and meanings. This work aims to address some comments about the poetic novel "Miguilim", by Guimarães Rosa. The regional, rich and naive oral language of the backcountry is filtered by the sophisticated recreation of this author. The considerations of this work are woven between text and psychoanalytic theory. Guimarães Rosa poetically crafts this novel, capturing the essence of the backlands. It is in this backcountry that the particularity of an eight-year-old myopic child is presented to us. The symptom of the child cannot be widespread. Miguilim's story is made in time. We know that the unconscious is timeless and there are many possible childish symptoms. Miguilim's question revolves around anguish to the point of body suffering. Thus, the body, marked by signifiers, is a body that goes beyond desire. Desire is precisely a limit to enjoyment; it interdicts him, not allowing the enjoyment to exceed certain limits. Amid travel and storms, the child protagonist is becoming. It is his favorite brother, Dito-Expedito, who helps him on this crossing. Death – encounter with the real – runs through the whole work. The child character walks to the clearance.
